Blacks Brewery & Distillery

Since 2013, Sam and Maudeline have been living their dream, fueled by a shared passion that transformed a simple hobby into a thriving business. It all began when Maudeline gifted Sam a home brewing kit for Valentine’s Day, igniting a fervent journey of experimentation and creation. This led to the birth of Blacks, a brewery and distillery with a clear mission: to break free from the monotony of mass-produced beverages by crafting beers and spirits brimming with passion and personality.

The Distillery
In 2015, the duo took a bold step forward by inaugurating their state-of-the-art distillery, marking Ireland’s first-ever brewery and distillery under one roof.

Initially, they focused on small-batch production of Irish Poitín, akin to the American moonshine, perfecting the craft with each run. Soon after, they ventured into the gin market, with Maudeline spending countless hours in the R&D lab to develop a rich, bold Irish Gin that would stand out in the crowd.

And what’s an Irish distillery without whiskey? Although they started young, unable to produce their own distilled and matured whiskey, Sam and Maudeline cleverly sourced aged whiskey and infused it with their distinctive touch, finishing it within their distillery walls to create something truly unique.
