PAX44 Liberation Day Edition

Pax44 debuts Liberation Day Edition May 5th 2025; Canadian whisky honouring 80 years of freedom in the Netherlands.
At Hotel de Wereld in Wageningen on May 5, 1945, German forces in the Netherlands surrendered to Canadian General Charles Foulkes and his negotiating team, including Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands.
The Liberation Day Edition of Pax44 debuts at the historic Hotel de Wereld. Only 12 specially boxed bottles of the Liberation Day Edition have been produced for ceremonial presentation this year. These 12 collector’s items are not for sale.
Whisky and chocolate is the signature of Pax44. Crafted from a single cask of 18-year-old Canadian rye whisky, personally selected and gifted to Pax44 by the original shipper, the Liberation Day Edition offers a distinct profile. With a bold, earthy aroma and layered notes of caramel, vanilla, and an unmistakable spicy rye finish, the whisky is perfectly complemented by subtle traces of Dutch cocoa, appearing on the nose and lingering delicately on the finish.
The unique cask will continue to mature ahead of a general release planned for Liberation Day 2026.

PAX44 Presentation Edition
- Inspiration: PAX44 is inspired by the exchange of Cognac and chocolate between British and German soldiers during a temporary truce at the Battle of Arnhem in 1944. This rare moment of peace is similar to the Christmas truce football match of 1914.
- Composition: The drink is a blend of VS Cognac, aged for a minimum of eight years, and infused with dark chocolate and raw, fermented cacao nibs. The Cognac is matured in Limousin oak and rested in Port barrels to add complementary flavor tones
- ABV: PAX44 is finished to 44% ABV and comes in 50cl handcrafted bottles.
- Limited Edition: Only 44 bottles of PAX44 have been produced, making it a highly exclusive and collectible item. The bottles are intended for presentation and auction, with proceeds supporting veteran causes through The VC Gallery and the Airborne Museum Hartenstein in Arnhem.
- Packaging: The bottle features a unique seal made from a live .303 round recovered from a garden in Arnhem, adding historical significance to the presentation.
