The Clontarf Irish Single Malt Whiskey – RRP 29,31
The Clontarf Irish Single Malt Whiskey is a distinguished Irish whiskey known for its smooth and complex character. Named after the historic Battle of Clontarf in 1014, where the Irish King Brian Boru defeated the Vikings, this whiskey carries a rich heritage.
The initial bottlings were provided by John Teeling, the former owner of Cooley. This whiskey is also triple distilled. Both these and the current bottlings are produced at Bushmills and aged in bourbon barrels. They have a smooth, fruity style with floral notes of barley and subtle wood. PAX44 Arnhem Edition Whiskey and Chocolate RRP 28,50
During Operation Market Garden in 1944 a German patrol trapped a group of paratroopers in a house in Oosterbeek. Instead of fighting they called a pax (truce) and exchanged Whiskey & Chocolade. To honour this moment PAX44 has created a flavoured expression called the Arnhem Edition. A premium, 3-8 year blend, triple distillered Irish whiskey. Imported into the Netherlands at cask strength 65% ABV and then reduced to 44%, subtly flavoured with cacoa extract and bottled.- Triple distilled for power and purity.
