Immerse yourself in this authentic experience, crafted by two experts at the pinnacle of their art: whisky and coffee. The desire to innovate has always been part of Belgian Owl’s DNA. That’s why our collaborations are rare but disruptive! It is this same drive for inventiveness that brought together the two Liège-based brands, Belgian Owl and Cafés Charles Liégeois, to create the delicate new nectar that is this Coffee-Finished Whisky.
This 5-year-old Single Malt Whisky is finished in barrels that previously held a coffee eau-de-vie. It is made with over 100 kg of coffee beans from the Republic of Congo, on the shores of Lake Kivu. The beans used are organic and Fairtrade ‘Arabica Blue Mountain’, carefully selected by the local brand CHARLES LIEGEOIS.

The resulting double-oak cask is then soaked with Tawny port, so that the wood takes up the Port's rich fruity flavours. It is aged in a custom double oak cask, which combines ex-bourbon staves with virgin French oak, and is then soaked with Oloroso and Amontillado sherry to impart rich and complex flavors.To create this rare expression, a single ex-bourbon cask of Dailuaine, distilled in 2012, is given a second maturation in a custom double-oak cask. The cask is hand-made by a skilled cooper and soaked with Oloroso and Amontillado sherry, allowing the wood to absorb the sherry's rich fruity flavors.
