From the Ruin of Battle is born a Beautiful Spirit.
In 1600, Ringrone Castle was held by Spanish forces but was captured by the English during the Siege of Kinsale after a fierce cannon attack.
Perched above the River Bandon, just south of Kinsale, this 13th-century castle was constructed on land granted to Milo de Cogan by Henry II.
Today, the remnants of Ringrone Castle lie just a stone’s throw from our brewery and distillery, inspiring us to create the first whiskey produced entirely in Kinsale.
