Firkin Rare Teaninich 2009 is a single malt Scotch whisky crafted by The Firkin Whisky Co. This unique expression is distilled at the Teaninich Distillery in the Highlands of Scotland. It is aged in a custom double oak cask, which combines ex-bourbon staves with virgin French oak, and is then soaked with Tawny Port to impart rich fruity flavors. To create this rare expression, a single ex-bourbon cask of Teaninich, distilled in 2009, is given a second maturation in a custom double-oak cask. The cask is hand-made by a skilled cooper and soaked with Tawny Port, allowing the wood to absorb the port's rich fruity flavors.
